Color theory and marling in your knits

Marling is a playful, creative way to add depth, color, and character to your knitting, whether you're aiming for bold contrasts, subtle shifts, or something completely unexpected. In this class, we’ll explore how marling can transform your fabric into something truly unique.

Together, we’ll dive into color theory, explore different techniques and style choices, and talk about how to mix yarn weights, incorporate marling into colorwork, and experiment confidently. You’ll pick up practical tips and tricks to help you take your knitting to the next level with custom fabrics that reflect your personal style.

The class will be a hands-on, interactive lecture featuring knitted samples, swatches, and yarn examples that make the concepts come alive. Then, we’ll knit a marled colorwork cup cozy as a fun and functional practice piece. You’ll also receive a copy of my Subalpine Cowl pattern, so you can continue exploring marling at home with a larger project.
